Can my dog eat Kanine Kookies if they have allergies or pancreatitis?

Absolutely! Most of our treats are ultra-lean (3–4.5% fat) and made with hypoallergenic, novel proteins like rabbit, venison, and kangaroo, We also make low-fat and functional vegan and vegetarian treats. We designed them for dogs with allergies, pancreatitis, IBD, and other sensitivities. If you want help choosing the right treat for your pup, just ask us!

Are Kanine Kookies good for dogs without allergies or dietary restrictions?

Definitely! Our treats are packed with functional, science-backed ingredients that support healthy joints, digestion, skin, and more. Even if your pup doesn’t have special dietary needs, they’ll love the taste—and you’ll love the health benefits.

Where do you get your ingredients from?

We use locally sourced, certified organic ingredients whenever possible, including Ontario oats, rabbit, venison, pumpkin, and berries. Salmon and sardines come from BC, and kangaroo, peanut butter and coconut oil are imported. All treats are made in small batches in Belmont, Ontario.

Are Kanine Kookies safe for diabetic dogs?

Yes! Most of our treats contain no added sugars and use low-glycemic oats and fruits. Orchard Snack, in particular, is designed to help support blood sugar regulation and digestive health.

Do you have any treats that are grain-free or just one ingredient?

Currently, we offer freeze-dried salmon, chicken and dehydrated sardines for grain-free, single-protein treats. We also offer kangaroo, rabbit and venison single-protein treats, although they are not grain-free, they are oat-based for gentle digestion. We’re actively developing more new recipes for single-protein and softer treats—stay tuned for updates!

How can I buy Kanine Kookies? Do you ship?

You can order right here on our website, visit us at local markets, or find us in select pet stores across Ontario and BC. We ship Canada-wide, with free shipping over $75! Check our Store Locator for a shop near you.

Do veterinarians recommend your treats?

Our formulas are designed for specific health needs and are 3rd-party tested. Some local vets carry our treats and recommend them to clients, but we don’t have formal endorsements yet.

How should I store the treats and how long do they last?

Our treats are naturally preserved by the process of desiccation (meaning we bake our treats low and slow to preserve nutrient content) and they are packed with an oxygen pack to prevent oxidation of fats. Unopened bags last up to 1 year from the date of manufacture. After opening, keep treats in an airtight container and use within 2–3 months for maximum freshness. Storing in the fridge will also help extend shelf-life, as will freezing the treats until you're ready to use them!

What if my dog doesn’t like the treats? Do you accept returns?

We want every pup to love their treats! If you’re not satisfied, please contact us and we’ll do our best to make it right. Returns are rare, but we’re here to help.

Are Kanine Kookies really made in Canada?

You bet! We bake every batch in Belmont, Ontario, using Canadian and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
